Commission Information

If you’d like to commission me, please contact me! I appreciate you taking the time to check out this page, and for thinking of my work.

I’ve got some price points on tumblr here, to give you a rough idea of where my pricing begins. (Thank you for bearing with me as I work on refining that scale!) I’ve found that in art, you can do, well, anything – that’s the point. And my prices fluctuate based on a number of factors: size of the piece, the drawing style, whether it’s digital or traditional, and the subject content. Please contact me with specifics on what you want, and we’ll talk the best price for the sort of work you want from me!

Will you post every commission you create?

No. If you’d rather I not post your commission online for any reason, tell me, and I’ll not post it. Simple as that.

Is there anything you won’t create?

Yes. If I’m not comfortable with the subject material – say, if it’s not safe for work (NSFW) – I’ll let you know, and decline the commission. I deal with NSFW material on a case-by-case basis since it’s such a nebulous area, so it can’t hurt to ask me.

I refuse to create things which require me to use things for which I do not have appropriate license, such as fonts, stock photos, or logos. If you want me to design an advertisement for your website, for instance, and you want me to use a font for which I cannot obtain a commercial license, I’ll ask you to consider another font, or I’ll not accept the commission. If you’re not sure about licenses, just ask me!

What do you base your commission prices on?

It mostly boils down to how much time I think I’ll spend on the work (which is affected by the subject material, medium, size of the work, drawing style, etc.). Wherever applicable, I’ll also charge for materials (this includes physical media and supplies, from paint and paper to fonts and stock photos).

If I want a commission from you, what information do you need from me?

Please be prepared to provide information about the work you’d like. Be as specific as possible. If you want to send me sketches or references that help me understand a layout, position, or composition, feel free to do so! These help me best create what you want me to.

How do you accept payment?

PayPal is my preferred method. Depending on the type of commission involved, I may ask for 30-50% of my payment upfront before I begin work. Otherwise, payment is accepted upon completion of the project.

Oooh, I like your art, but I can’t afford it right now. Do you give discounts?

Man, I’ve been there. It sucks not being able to pay for things. In a perfect world, I’d do art for free, but this is what I’m doing for a living. I’m a freelancer. I don’t typically give discounts on commissions.
